Tom Robert

Science Teacher

My life has often found meaning in exploring new places, connecting with people, and experiencing things that dreams could not anticipate. I come from France, a beautiful country which, somehow forgets that it is its diversity that gave it its incommensurable beauty, a nation that is losing itself to the pitfall of incuriosity. My research at the University of Montréal, and the University of Toronto (where I obtained a master’s in political philosophy) looked at diversity from philosophical, anthropological, and educational angles. I explored the notions of Aboriginal self-determination, diversity in education, multiculturalism, gender in politics, intersectionality and more (I invite you to read!). My teaching “style” at Outstanding International Academy, an organization whose vision aligns to mine in the pursuit of providing outstanding education to students around the world and making premium education more accessible, is based on the premise that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. Thus, I willingly join my students in the circle of knowledge and encourage them all, just like I do, to give the class a bit of their specialness, a bit of their colour, and a bit of their humanity in sum! As they say, when you love, you do not count: I do not intend to count my hours when my work embodies my passion! See you around in the corridors of knowledge at OIA!

Cianan Shortall

Math & Science Teacher

I am an Irish trained teacher with a Masters in Education from University College Dublin in Ireland. I am originally from Ireland but now living in Toronto, CA. In my spare time you can find me watching any kind of sport but my favourite would have to be soccer. You can contact me with any questions or issues at cianan@outstandingedu.com or through D2L. I look forward to helping you with this course and I am sure to expect great things. Please enjoy this course and contact me whenever you need.
