Principal's Welcome

In September, 2019 I joined a group of caring educators to embark on an adventure – the opening of a new Ontario private school – Outstanding International Academy. Together, all of the teachers and office staff are working to make OIA a great place for learning and living. At Outstanding International Academy we provide an English immersion learning experience for students in order to prepare our graduates for college life in Canada. The staff at OIA provides a warm and caring environment for all students to enable them to reach their full potential.

All of the teaching staff at Outstanding International Academy are certified Ontario teachers or have the equivalent status from another province or country. They are specialists in their field. Teachers at OIA are hired based on their knowledge and skills as teachers but also for their ability to relate to and motivate students to do their best. They are empathic listeners who support students in their transition to a new country with its different culture, customs and challenging education system. Every one of our teachers believes that motivated and engaged students will reach their highest potential. Our students are encouraged to go beyond the minimal requirements in order to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them at Outstanding International Academy.

Courses are taught based on the rigorous Ontario Curriculum presented by the Ontario Ministry of Education. We provide a particular focus on English language development through an emphasis on reading, writing and speaking – all of which are essential skills for success in a Canadian university or college. Students are encouraged to explore new ideas and concepts and to express their own ideas. Thinking creatively, problem solving and expressing these ideas in English are essential skills for the upcoming generation of students in Canada. Graduates of Outstanding International Academy are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of their post-secondary education.

On behalf of all members of the OIA community, we look forward to welcoming all of our students to Canada and to our outstanding school.
